Why Quality Local Access TV is Critical

Why Quality Local Access TV is Critical
Picture any of these scenarios:
The city council is voting on a measure that will have a direct impact on your property tax bill.
The local high school football team is taking on their rival from the next town over.
The local music shop is hosting a live concert, and your friend is in the band.
Sometimes life gets in the way and it’s impossible to attend the events that matter most. Maintaining the ability to watch has a powerful impact on people’s lives.
We’ve heard heartfelt stories about grandparents confined to their hospital beds, and able to watch their grandkids’ events. We’ve heard stories about people from the farthest geographic reaches, who are still connected to the roots of their hometown through local access programming. At BATV, we take pride in bringing important events to you, when you can’t be there in person. It’s why we do what we do.
Not everyone has the luxury of watching these events unfold from the comfort of their couch. Batavia Access Television is a local non-profit 501c3 that relies on contributions from businesses and individuals in the community to continue to bring quality programming. If you have benefited from BATV, and you’d like to ensure it continues – please consider making a financial contribution. Here are a few ways that is possible:
Website – At the top right, and bottom left of every page of the BATV website, there is an orange “Donate Today” button. The simplest way to donate is to hit that button and make a donation through PayPal.
Mail a Check – For those who prefer the paper method, you can also mail a check directly to BATV at 1201 Main Street, Batavia, IL 60510.
Sponsorships – Businesses can also run sponsorships during the football season for added visibility. There are a variety of sponsorship options available.
Donations go toward the day-to-day operations of the station, such as equipment costs or graphics. Sponsorship money and football donations can go toward costs such as securing IHSA rights for playoff games.
Because of BATV’s non-profit status, any donation is tax deductible. The quality and resources of local access television depend on the funding that comes in to support it. If you enjoy access to the kinds of community programming that airs on BATV, make sure you support it.
